NJ Vet to Vet

​NJ Vet2Vet is a confidential peer support program for New Jersey veterans, active military members, National Guard, and their families. Staffed by trained veterans, the program offers 24/7 assistance, mental health support, and connections to resources like counseling, VA benefits, housing, and employment services.
​Whether you need someone to talk to or help navigating services, NJ Vet2Vet is here for you—because no veteran should go it alone.
  • Peer Support: Connect with trained specialists who have military experience, providing understanding and guidance tailored to veterans' unique needs. 
  • Case Management: Receive assistance in accessing community resources, including referrals to mental health providers, veterans' centers, and employment services. ​

NJ 211 is a statewide, nonprofit organization that connects New Jersey residents with essential health and human services. Operating 24/7, NJ 211 offers free, confidential, and multilingual assistance to individuals and families seeking support. (THEY ARE NOT A SERVICE PROVIDER but act as a resource to connect)

The Headstrong Project

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Easterseals

The Cohen Clinic at Easterseals delivers high-quality, accessible mental health care to post-9/11 veterans, active-duty service members (including National Guard and Reserves), their families, and caregivers--regardless of discharge status, role, or ability to pay. The clinic is part of the national Cohen Veterans Network, which focuses on reducing barriers to behavioral healthcare for military-connected individuals.
  • Open to All Who Served: Veterans, National Guard, Reservists, and active-duty service members are all eligible for care—no matter your role or discharge status.
  • Family and Children Included: Spouses, partners, children (ages 4+), and caregivers are also eligible for counseling and support—recognizing the whole family serves.

Avalon Action Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans and first responders dealing with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), and Substance Abuse (SA). They collaborate with specialized partners to offer comprehensive care and resources tailored to the unique needs of these individuals.
  • TBI Centers: Facilities offering assessments and treatments for mild to moderate brain injuries, accommodating both diagnosed and undiagnosed individuals with related symptoms.​ No-cost program specifically for service members and veterans.
  • Warrior PATHH: A 90-day program starting with a 7-day structured stay, focusing on post-traumatic growth without requiring a clinical diagnosis.​​
  • Substance Abuse Treatment Centers: Programs like Warriors Heart tailored to veterans and first responders dealing with substance abuse and co-occurring psychological disorders.
